sounds like you may have an air leak in the intake manifold....?
Hi,
Would like some advice on my 2003 v8 disco with 59,000km
Recently I had a HT lead go, so i decided to replace all 8 and keep the rest of the 7 for backups. The mechanic that changed the leads also showed me that the platium plugs were shot and needed to be replaced.
So after new HT leads and new platium plugs I was expecting my girl to be running as new, but no.
At low revs under 2,000rpm I get a small shudder which feels like starvation of fuel. It happens when I go up a small hill or put the motor under load.
My first guess was fuel filter and thats why I posted a tread earlier today for the fuel filters location.
I always run BP ultimate RON 98 since I have owned her for the last 8 months and the previous owner also stated that he ran PULP.
I have booked her in to Ricks 4WD centre on the Gold Coast next week for a 60,000 service and a good going over. But I like to know whats going on under the bonnet and try and fix anything I can.
Any opinions and advice would be appreciated,

first you gotta find it.......
grab a spray can...wd40...carby cleaner or whatever is handy at the time.....
(a good tip is to avoid spray paint.....)
now...with the engine running.....spray the stuff around the plenum chamber/inlet manifold.....injectors etc.....and listen to see if the engine speed changes.....
if you get a change in revs from the spray....that is where the leak is.....
you need to find out why.......ie...broken gasket....no sealant....warped bits...etc....
then rectify the problem.....
WARNING: take care not to spray on hot exhaust as the sprays are flammable.......
ps.....you should have changed 9 leads in total.....
if you didnt.....go check/test the coil lead.....
2003 Disco V8 has EDIS. ie Electronic Direct Ignition System.=4 coils =8 leads.

oops....i missed the bit about 2003.....![]()
More than likely check the airflow meter on these, LR actually stock about 100 or so of these due to the high failure rate.
