    snorkels

hi a mate of mine has a japper and wants a snorkel after we spent 3 hours on the side of a track last weekend getting his car going after he flooded the engine oh yeah very lucky boy a diesel and water dont mix

anyway he has been trolling ebay and asked me what the difference between Airflow & safari snorkels , so i thought id ask all the technos here if there is any benifits of each brand

the price difference in price is about $100.00
    Airflow being the cheaper option

From what I've seen there's not much difference. Personally I don't like the style of the AirTec as its too rounded (boy is that a technical response!).

Actually the only thing I have heard about either of them was a Nissan workshop telling me that the Airtec's they were fitting to one model Nissan Patrol was causing a very nice droning sound and that they were now only fitting Safari's.

That said IMHO it just depends on the vehicle it's fitted to, the most important thing is making sure the fitting is "water tight" so to speak and hasn't got any leaks at joins etc.

    Oops miss read the post

But actually the same can be said for the Airflow snorkels as well. The other 2 things to note:

Safari has the market share but then they partner with OEM stuff (eg Land Rover)

Personal opinion, but I'd avoid one that has a one piece tube and air ram. I know some do and this means that you can't put a precleaner on to it for really dusty conditions.
