    Steering box fix

Blknight suggested in another thread to get an old cactus box to practice on, (as in stripping) which sounds like a top idea.

So I rang the only wrecker in this neck of the woods who has at least 4 old rangies down the back.

He said: "yeah, there's power boxes in a few of 'em."

I explained what my purpose was and got this reply.

"No worries, mate $250. My dad had service on his and it costed $800."

    Uh-huh.............

I then asked if they were in working order for that price, and he said, "Wouldn't have a clue, but some goose'll buy em"

So, I said: "If it doesn't work, what then"

He said: "Oh well, might have to find you one that does."

Curiously, the leak has stopped and the reservoir is at correct level,

Mate, when you get your spare on to knock apart you will want to save some parts out of it to make drifts, and press adaptors for knocking the good one apart.

If and when you get a spare box and seperate it drop me a line and I'll show you the parts you need to salvage to make the drifts.

    Enjoy

I've got a spare 4-bolt box in the garage. I pulled it out my previous RR and replaced it.

    It's pretty good.

    Thanks ron,

On a completely separate note, a friend who is not well (oh dear) is divesting all of his stuff, told me the news about a week he's still coming to terms with the 'issue'; needs to get rid of more than a dozen cars, trucks, cranes and things......including a couple of 80-90's RR's.

I know nothing as yet..but I'll keep you posted.

Note to Ace (Matt): His NOV 95 EF Falcon sedan 8 months reg, 142kk and quite okay, went for $3300 private sale.

    cheers, GQ
