Urgent. D2 alarm sounds then can't unlock!!!

    Hi all,
just had a new problem pop up with the Disco. Have been home 15 minutes and the alarm (horn) started going off for about 15 seconds while I was looking for the key and now it won't unlock. The horn beeps once when I try to unlock with the key immobiliser and the same with the driver's door lock but it won't unlock either way.

Some background info. Just installed a new Superforce Gold battery today and have just returned from giving it a good wash (including engine bay). But it started and ran fine on the way home.

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this happen.

    Thanks
    Fraser

You might have to disarm the alarm using the EKA code.

Once that's done though I'm not sure what might be triggering the alarm. Check the battery connections to start with.

    Smile D2 locks fixed themselves...

All OK now after about an hour. No idea what was wrong.

    Happy now!

    Cheers

    Thumbs up

    Thanks Scott.

Appreciate the reply. I thought of the EKA code but the books were in the car (and a brick was not really an option).

Thanks for the welcome. You guys do a great job of keeping the forum together.

when you wash an engine......if you dont blow it dry and then get it hot.....
the water steams up and gets into all sorts connectors and components.....
it can even do this when you DO blow it dry.......

this is the worst in petrol engines.....it always finds its way into the dizzy cap or the spark plugs.....
