anyone know the size of the 95 tdi aircon clutch pully bearing or how to remove the pulley assembly from the compressor shaft with out damaging the compressor ?
i have a noisy bearing and i dont have $1300 to buy a new compressor and fitting etc etc.
any info appreciated...

Years ago I had the bearing only changed on a car [NOT a LR ! though] so I cant see why it cant be done by a good A/C specialist - bearing can probably be sourced from a bearings supply place.....nd of course you need the right puller and other tools.....depends on what gear you possess and hopefully bearing hasn't welded itself on the shaft!Originally Posted by incisor

Hi, my 95tdi's a/c pulley bearing has just gone too. Went to Natrad and you can take pulley off press out the bearing and just replace the bearing.
they qouted me just under $200 to do it for me. You also don't have to regas cause you can take the pulley off and leave the compressor attached. Most bearing places will have the bearing it's about $20 can't remmember what it is cause for $200 they can do it.

Bearing is 30 ID x 52 OD x 22 W. My guess is a double row ball bearing with seals both sides (not pulled seals out to check or looked up catalogue).
NACHI bearing No 30BGS10DST2.
The clutch is retained on a splined shaft by a screw in the centre of the clutch.

very easy job actually....
release tension from belt, undo 10mm retaining bolt, slide outer front part of assbly forward and off, look out for packing washers. release circlip, slide bearing and hub off and you have access to bearing.
just repacked my bearing till i can get a new one....

That would be great, I had mine at a Rover specialist and he told me they are internal bearings and lbed by the gas inside the compressor and were not repairable.
If it is a simple fix like you say then I'd be very happy

Can you tell me the compressor make and model and I will look it up in the OEX catalogue
mines a DENSO ( made in Japan)
on the back it has.
