    noisy injectors

    just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with there injectors being noisy and having a flat spot at around 2500rpm.

    If its a tdi, check the copper washers as they crush and loose their sealing.

    His previous post was the clicking diff in a Td5 Defender.....

    I can't say I've heard of noisy injectors in a Td5 though.

    One's that don't work, yes.

    Have you had a look at the cam? remove the cover and check the cam lobes for the injector plungers for loss of hard facing. Early Td5's have been known to have this problem.(1999 to 2001). Also, is it a diesel knock/ rattle? or a ticking metallic noise? The diesel knock could be traced to poor quality fuel, but the metallic ticking could mean something else...!

    its in a td5 and according to landrover its a short circuit fault in the injector wiring loom causing it to only rev to 2500rpm

    they also performed a software upgrade to help rectify the problem

    Sorry but how can a sofware upgrade solve a hardware problem like a short circuit.

    they also replaced the wiring loom at the same time
