D2 owners with MAXI axles & Locked pls read

While reading a post on a clicking noise in a D90 it came to my attention that Slunnie and I had a clicking noise too, we also have Lockers and MAXI axles too, this clicking noise is very noticable when offroad and the car is under load, aspecially when turning, left in particular, well for me anyway.

Are there any other D2 owners out there with this clicking noise

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Yep, I have MD rear locker, F&R axles, 4.11's & CV's and mine clicks, but I think it only does it when the CDL is engaged. Haven't checked real hard and yes it only does it when turning.

Might be onto something Redback Will follow this thread with interest and if you do draw any conclusions, let me know, as our club is having a tour of the Maxi Drive factory at the end of this month, so I will ask Mal then or present him with some info at least.

Detroit Lockers (No Spin) usually make a clicking or rattling noise when turning. This is the dogs in the clutch packs sliding past each other without engaging. Can be quite loud and worrying if you are not aware of the cause. My HT GTS350 had an Oldsmobile diff and No Spin fitted and made loud clanking sounds on turning.

I'd be interested in guys with a D2 that either has a locker with standard axles and an owner with Maxi axles but no locker to see if it is clicking.

Yes Mick i'll let you know how this turns out.

Maybe Simon could ask the D2a forum to comment too.
