Hi Edd,
I think it is at the rear of the case, next to the park brake, like the LT 230. I think.(!) I should remember this, but I haven't worked on one for a while!!

If anyone reads this in the next hour where is the bolt for putting oil in the transfer case of a series 2a. I have one stopping by in 45 mins to an hour for a top up.
Thanks in advance.

everyone says to use ep 90 - but i've never been able to find it.
If it is overfull - top up the gearbox as that is where the excess oil came from.
It won't worry too much what sort of oil you put into it - EP90 is specified, but in fact as long as it is clean oil it will be happy. There is no synchromesh and no other critical components and it is not highly stressed.

I do mine the lazy way..
pull the center seat and the inspection panel,
reach down and remove the bung.
undo the 4 nuts holding the top plate on
pour the oil in there till it comes out the filler...
replace all the parts..
2 minutes tops.

Sounds like an idea - provided you can get the centre panel out without breaking any screw, and the same for the nuts on the top plate. Probably a good idea to clean the thick layer of dust, oil, mud, cow manure and grass seeds off before removing the plate, as this mixture does not improve the running of the transfer case.Originally Posted by Blknight.aus
In my case I have the centre panel out anyway to check the oil in the overdrive.
