    Simple tube question

    Hi All

    Dicso II, standard alloy rims.

I've been told that you cannot use tubes with them.

    Is that true or not?

    Hi John
You shouldnt run tubes in tubless tyres for the same reason. The ribbing in the tyres heats the tubes up so much they weld themselves to the insides of the tyres. The increased operating temp can lead to blowouts.

as a TEMPORARY solition for fitting a tube be liberal with the application of baby/talcum powder inside the carcass of the tyre...

Inflate the tube to seat the bead, put some kind of retainer on the valve then pull the stem. Shake the tyre around plenty, put it on the hub and rotate it 20 times or so. Reinflate to the correct temp and keep your speed sub 80 stopping every 50km or so to check the tyre temps
