Sloppy Seatbelts
Hi all, the retractable seatbelts in the front of my 82 Rangie have lost there tension to the point I have to manually feed the belt back into the drum. Is there any way of tensioning the springs or something inside the drum? Or is it a case of throw away and find something else that fits in the seat backs? If the later is the only solution, are there any ideas out there as to what to use?
Robert,
PS. just had a pink slip inspection, amazingly passed ok, but comments were made. The guy couldn't get the passenger side belt to hold his brake tester machine on the seat. Better get it fixed, Help!!!

The seat belts in my 89 model, especially the drivers side have the same problem. new genuine ones are not available any more. Have been looking at the UK sellers who sell aftermarket replacements.

on some of the older cars they could be pulled appart and the spring carefully wound up a bit.....to give it a bit more tension.....
but not too much or it may bind up....
i have done it before...several times......but i cant remember if it was on a landy....or one of my mazda capellas......
