I'm only guessing at this (so I'll probably get shot down in flames). The Disco Td5 has cruise control and I'm assuming its linked to the engine ECU via SLABS, BCU or something. So does the Td5 Defender have the same control units and can the cruise control just go in and be programmed as enabled??? You could probably pick up the switches and harness from a wreck.
...or am I completely off track?

Thanks all, someone else was looking into fitting genuine cruise assuming its programmed already into the computer. I don't think they have got a solution yet? Does anyone know where I can check a discovery parts book on the internet? Maybe they are different but still have a similar bolt arrangement and could go straight in?
Another solution, MORE POWER that way I don't have to put my foot into it as much!!! although realistically I would just use it all and still have the same problem.
Thanks Scott

tried for years to convince my father to fit cruise control in his 1984 commodore wagon he always refused to do it. Bought himself a toyota crolla wagon just recently with cruise control now he says he was a fool for not having one when l suggested it.
have had cruise control on all my vehicles since 1990 and l wouldnt have a car without one even in city driving situations they are useful and long trips well lets not go there as to convenience comfort and safety.
