My dad did 450,000 MILES (thats 720,000k's) in a 110 200 Tdi with no probelms with the engine what so ever. And most of that about 90% was with a 3 ton trailer on the back. Mine you went though one gearbox and transfer box. But in his own admission that was because of the towing.

In my mind still the best diesel engine that Land Rover have made. Well the toughest at least.

Spoke to the previous owner last night, engine and running gear has been well maintained with a recent timing belt change and new water pump. I guess time will tell, I actually pick it up until 01/12.

The only and i mean only problem you have with the 200 TDi is they tend to blow a head gasket at about 110,00 miles so thats about 177,000 K's
They go at number 4 piston. No problem and easy to change and not a drama.
When the new one goes on is differant as land rover knew it was a problem. But is done 200 + then no worries would have been done by now. Then the new gasket will be set for life
