oops I put this in the wrong area dont know how to move it?
I was talking to the young fella at my local mechanics shop who races in the mud larks the other day and I hit him up about how does he keep water out of his distributor.
His answer was so obvious I couldnt believe it.
He drilled and tapped into the side of the distributor and then ran a line from a cheap air compressor that he bought from a cheap auto outlet, he even did the same to the solinoid on the starter motor no more problems period.
he has spent over 12 grand on the parts for his motor alone, so he is pretty serious about it continuing to run.

The big boys even run air into their winch motors to keep the water out![]()

My nephew used to have a Suzuki Stockman - this had an extra post on top of the distributor that had a hose on it going to the heater - with the fan going it supplied hot slightly pressurised air to the distributor.Originally Posted by blitz

I threw mine in the bin and fitted coil packs, although drilling a hole would've been easier![]()

If your going to do this why not fit a small tank and a regulator... Im working on something similar for kermit ATM and will post up a schematic for it as Im doing it but all up the parts will cost you less than $200 for onboard air, assuming you dont want to buy a super expensive 12v compressor...

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Saw a tank a couple of weeks ago at Kmart. $38 120psi pump it up at a servo or with your compressor, can't remember if it came with a hose for the tyres or not. Looked like it was all set up to rig up on a chassis rail.
Didn't have $40 that day, pity. It looked like the cheapest way to get the tank bit of the on board air in one piece.
Cheers
Simon.
I have one of these, were $30 a while a go, they are too bulky to mount to chassis under vehicle but handy to use to add air to tyres when you dont want to roll a 20m air hose out.Originally Posted by abaddonxi
