I think Edd is talking off the full flow filter (the one in the place only a double jointed miget can access without burning hands on exhaust and turbo inlet manifolds)

I found it easier just cutting down an elcheapo oil filter wrench so it clears the firewall, but the D2 engine bay is a bit more spacious than a defenders

Good idea. Place it somewhere you can get at it easily, and point it the right way, with the open end of the filter canister uppermost so you don't spill hot oil over your hands and the engine bay and garage floor when changing. While you are at this, plumb in an oil radiator as well. There are plenty of vehicles that have remote oil filters, all Slant Six Chryslers for a start. In the past I made up adaptors for Holdens and Chrysler Hemi 6's to avoid the oil spill problem, and also to fit oil radiators.

I like the idea, but not sure how the hell youd squeeze it all in or where you could put it all so it was protected...

Ive remoted a Series rovers filters before but that was an easy bolt in of a simple plate adaptor... Had a few problems with the engines rocking and vibration fatiguing the hose connectors.
