    Fuel consumption

    Just a question that we need to know for math, what is the fuel consumption of a standard Series II disco TDi???

    About 9 litres to the hundred, maybe.

    Disco 1 diesel was 33 mpg.

    Do you mean Series II Td5 or Series I Tdi (300 or 200)

    Answer will depend on whether it's a manual or auto as well as what additions are on the vehicle.

    G'day mate,
    I get, reliably: 9 - 10 L/100km around town, and that’s flogging it a bit. I recently did a trip to Brisbane and back, got 7.4 on the way up - with an injector cleaner in, and 7.1 on the way back (but the missus was driving and stuck to 90-100 mostly). These figures are reliable too - I keep good books, although I haven’t had the vehicle for that long.

    Anybody have any hints/tips on how to increase efficiency? Bigger exhaust? Or maybe an injector pump tweak?

    Oh, and thats on a manual 97 TDi Disco, thats the one with the 300 motor in it.

    Auto Td5, not overly concerned about fuel (business car - hence the records) Aircon always on. Usually half loaded.

    on a recent sydney to melbourne trip i was getting 37mpg when i could stick to 100kph, tdi200 disco running clean power fuel addetive

    Best mileage I got from my 300Tdi disco was 61L for 730km fully loaded and mostly over dirt roads. My Td5 Disco gets around 10L/100km

    And my 300Tdi Defender has done 795km and hasn't used 3/4 of a tank! ... OK it's a big tank!
