The cradle for fitting to alli bars?

I tried to fit one to the chassis on mine, but it appears to bolt to the actual TJM bar, not the chassis. The side mounts fit about half way through the chassis, so they sure don't bolt to the chassis.........

My disco had a TJM alloy bar when I bought it.

I bought the TJM winch cradle for it. Should be able to find the instructions.

Pretty self explanitary. Only problem is the cradle and winch have to be bolted to the bar, while it is off the vehicle.

The cradle bolts to the front face of the bar, and to the steel brackets which attach the bar to the chassis. So while they don't bolt directly to the chassis, the steel brackets transfer the loads to the chassis. I don't have any engineering concerns with doing it that way.

Thanks John, yeah it is pretty simple, i just noticed that i may have to drill another hole on each side of the chassis as 2 extra bolts i have have crush tubes with them and i wanted to make sure i mount it correctly.
And yes they certainly do bolt to the chassis unless those 2 chunks of square box section hanging out the front are just for looks

Does the one you have actually fit to the inside or outside of the chassis? As in you could bolt it to the chassis without any bar there?

I checked one out at 4WD Megastore and the side brackets were right in the middle of the chassis rails. Or does it actually bolt to the bar brackets?

You could use it without the bar as the bar mounts to it though it would protrude to far forward to keep the original bar.
