    RAVE for TD5 ??

    Howdy chaps.

I was just looking into my NAS version of RAVE and realised the TD5 Disco II must not have been sold in the US. It's makes no mention of of diesels only V8s.

    Two questions
    - does anyone have RAVE for TD5 (Disco II) ?
    - does anyone know anything about Cruise Control ECUs for TD5, specifically whether they use the same HELLA module as the V8 ?

I know the TD5's have a drive by wire throttle.
Is the diesel injector pump electric or just electronically controlled or both ?

    Thanks,
    Hardy

From RAVE the look like they are the same - and the EPC lists the same part No.

The pump seems to be controlled by the ECM

    Hi Hardy
Rave discs in the Markets link, part proceeds help the site.
    No Diesels to USA
Electronic fuel pump no "normal" injector pump as such, electronic injectors.
Cant help with the cruise ECU,but can say it seems to be able to extract more HP out of the motor than the loud pedal under load. This is also the same in many heavy trucks so it could be a short energy spurt the cruise ECU has accses too????

Cruise control for the TD5 D2 is a function of the engine ecu.

Yes, sorry - looks like I misread RAVE - and the info in ECP was wrong

    The ECM controls the cruise

I thought that cruise controls was controlled by then ABS system (therefore SLABS). Hmmm, how does the ECU know that you are doing a certain speed?

I'll get it right this time

According to RAVE the ECM interfaces with the

EAT if fitted (Electronic Auto Transmission)
    SLABS
    Serial Port
    Instrument Cluster
    BCU

......so I guess that's how the ECU knows

    Hardy,

    - You need the other version of Rave, commonly called Rave#3, which has comprehensive Td5 and cruise details for Disco II.

    - Microcat also lists the same ECU part no. for both engines.
