They will bolt in but the pinion is 2 inces longer, so shorten your driveshaft by 2 inches.
I think there are more threads on this.

That is what I did - improved things a lot, but yours still has a bit more clearance.Quote:

Where can I buy a Rockcrusher diff cover like yours, Regards Frank.Quote:

Obviously the supplied bolts are useless (UNF) but a D60 cover is an absolute straight bolt up. The Rockcrusher cover fixed my oil weeping problem with the modified Sals cover and put back some strength into the diff, which I was a touch concerned about, although I haven't hacked near as much off the bottom as lokka, I didn't want to have to weld in a new bottom.
The minimum wall thickness of the RC cover is around 8mm, it does weigh a bit. It also needs a thorough wash when you get it to remove casting residue/sand/machining swarf, etc.
G'day rick wasnt me who cut the bott off the sals it was crossy im keen to do a mod like that tho wat did the rockcrusher cost and wat's the contact details for the supplyerQuote:

rockcrusher is now http://www.solidaxle.com/tek9.asp
no listing for Aussie distributors on the webpage though...
It's a Dana 60 cover sourced through Sean at ABT (Aussie Boys Toys). http://www.abt4x4.com
ABT are the Oz distributors.
I bought it as it was cheaper/easier than buying plate and fabbing up a 5/16" plate cover myself and getting the damn thing oil tight. By the time I bought plate, cut it, had it folded, welded it, drilled and had the face machined flat it would have cost me a bomb in time and favours ;) Easier to ring Sean, pull the plastic out and get one freighted to me, then I could set about hacking the bottom off it to suit the diff knowing it would remain oil tight when finished. An advantage is that I can slightly overfill the diff (for the wheel bearings) with the high mounted filler.
I have seen a couple of rangies with a ford 9" rear, but they are not as unbreakable as people think. The standard 9" has a weak casing which breaks easily - especially in the pinion bearing carier region and fairly small axles. By the time you have upgraded to a nodular iron casing and large axles, you have an axle about the strength of a salisbury but a lot more $$$.Quote:
