There is definately a gasket, as to the amount of pain you'll go through to replace it ............well that's another thing
Hey guys my td5 seems to squeal allot when i put it under load at the end of first and second gears, i first thought it may be the turbo squealing or the waste gate but on closer look (and help from the LR dealer it looks like the exhaust manifold is leaking. Does anyone know if there is a gasket under there? or am i in for a world of pain when i take it off? (like having to get it machined and the like) Or can i just rip it off and seal it up then throw it back on? and is it a good idea to change all the mounting studs for the manifold whilst i'm there? Or am i looking in the wrong spot for this squeal??

Oil in the Harness, suspension knock, transmission clunk, engine oil leaks, exhaust manifold leaks, centrifugal oil filter stripped bolts, a/c leaks, door leaks, wouldn't trade it for the world

mine is starting to make noise again, not sure if it is the manifold or something else,I am now on gasket number 4 had the manifold planed, enlarged the holes and replaced the nuts and even double nutted them will look this weekend

Guys, I thought I had this problem but it turned out that one of the nuts on the turbo housing mounting had fallen off, allowing a slight leak.
Nah no luck there Frenchie I discovered the exhaust mark over the rear of the manifold where it had spat out all exhaust fumes and left a big stain.
