    Tdi centre muffler

    well i just came back from the exhaust place i had my centre muffler removed and replaced with a hot dog

    first impression wow faster turbo spool quicker take off and no more than the normal noise in the car and it sounds sweeter

    i left the rear resonator on as its straight thru anyway

    yes well worth the $80.00

    a few months ago i removed my centre muffler and replaced with pipe only, no problem with noise = $40

    a couple of weeks ago a had the resinator removed when they replaced mt damaged tail pipe, a tad noiser in the cab, lots noiser behind the rig, wish i has left the resinator on as i don't really like the note of the exhaust and the fact the whole suburb knows when i coming and going = $80

    hmmm, placebo effect ??

    OE centre muffler on a 300Tdi is a straight through (perforated tube) job, bigger in ID than the exhaust in or out. Replacing it will give you no effect, other than noise.

    Yeah, no muffler or resonator is too damn loud, particularly in 3". It's still too loud with a 12" resonator at the back. Without anything it's just painfull.

    the exhaust pipe on mine was larger before the muffler than after the muffler, a 1/4in or so

    i now have the same size all the way through

    sorry to say but i did notice a difference
    the result being less turbo lag yes it took off quicker
    and i noticed that with in 20 foot of leaving the exhaust place

    i have no reason to lie about this because its true i did notice a difference
