    Hi,
Does any one out there know of replacement bulk heads for defenders that can be sourced locally.

    Thanks,

You would have to buy 2nd hand. British offroad should have plenty.

2nd hand ones are normally damaged. Check with landrover. They qoted me $1550 for a new one about 18 mths ago. I was sorry I didn't get a new one from the start. would have been easier. The one I used had been galvanised and the a pillar had a bow in it. The there were heaps of other problems also. Galled up fixed nuts broke off when I attempted to retap them.

Hi, thanks for that one as well. My local Landie dealer wants $3100 for a new one (mind you they also quoted me $1218 for a radiator). I will keep on looking.

I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a straight 2nd hand one. It is rare that they are damaged unless it was a heavy smash or the vehicle rolled. All the problems you mentioned were due to the galvanising, which sounds like it was done badly. Plenty of others have been galvanised without problems.

I got a 2nd hand one put in when I bent mine on the rock ledge. I can find out how much it was in the quote for spare parts if you want - I think $1800 sticks in the mind.
