    Doring Fuel Cat......

I have been asked to be a test vehicle for one of these......

    http://www.aulro.com/app/data/500/Bkg5.jpg

I do not want all the blah, blah...it will not work but according to the guidelines of installation it needs to be positioned on the low pressure side of the fuel pump.

On the D2 where is that!!

There appears to be little room available from the tank to the fuel pump and it would have to squeeze it in.

Another question of marketing is could you place one on the return line to the tank or is this under high pressure?

I'm off to study the Rave Cd to investigate how it all works so any technical input would be great!

    Cheers.

Feral, the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank.

There's only a "high" pressure side of the pump - and that's inside the fuel tank all the way to the injectors. "Low" pressure side would be the suction side, i.e. the strainer/pre-filter. I can't see how you're going to fit it to low pressure side of Fuel pump.

The fuel return line pressure is low, but what's the point of putting it there? - NONE!

From what I understand they also do some in tank versions - that may be the way to go

Good grief, people are still marketting those things.

I'd give it a wide birth and not even risk introducing it to the system.

There is no way to get magic power to the engine, nor magic economy....

Graciously decline the offer.... Its not worth the bother for no benefit.

You WILL get more variation based on outside temperature, driving conditions (traffic, terrain etc), A/C usage, and barometric pressure etc....

These devices were tested and shown to give at best an insignificant change.

And the normal cost (+ fitting) negates the savings and benefits if you just used the $$$ for the fuel in the first place.

He's one of those "I'll sell anything for a buck" blokes....

And his facts are so far out of the ballpark and from reality its not funny.

IF you do, I'd put it before the fuel filter which is under the rear DS guard.

Yeah...I know TR....did you like the extra 30 kph top speed increase

but I am getting this thing for free of cost and all I have to do is install it. There is definately no money changing hands at my end I can assure you of that.

I am very happy with what the D2 gets now, all this family member wants is the test data that is generated.

    Cheers.

...if you can work out which pipe is the low pressure feed to the filter, as there's also the return from the engine and the air bleed back to the tank.

You'd have to be game to stuff around with those plastic pipes!

I can't see any reason not to try it at no cost. If I was offered the same deal I would (even if it was to prove it didn't work - I'm a skeptic)

I see they have an in-tank version but it seems to be for steel tanks.
