Wheel moovement seems stiff
Hi guys,
When I was testing the new rim on the land rover box trailer the movement on the right side wheel seems very stiff. When I try to spin the wheel (gently) it will stop withing a few centimeters of travel.
Compared to the other side the wheel will travel (not freely) but at least one and a half revolutions.
I can hear a soft scraping noise inside the brake drums. Could it be that the breaks on the right side is engaged.
Any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it.
The trailer has vacuum brakes, and I cannot use them at this stage, thinking about converting them to electronic some day...?
Thanks!

sounds like you worked it out.......
take the drum off and refit the wheel and spin it again.......if it spins freely this time then its just the brakes......
if its still stiff...then it may be the bearings........

as tony said
but drum brakes also hold the dust in side so it could just be a build up of dust be carefull as this dust just might contain asbestos
