What implications (in terms of road worhty/registration) does this have for me now?
This will probably depend on which state you are in - I suggest you fill out your location so that someone in your state can help. But my experience in NSW is that failing to find a number on the chassis will mean that you will have to be assigned a number by the police after you have convinced them that there is nothing funny going on. I might add that I later found the number by removing several layers of paint, but having been assigned a number this supersedes the original number. This was despite having the original number on two identification plates on the body plus on the Victorian registration certificate in my name!

I have been searching long and hard for this number. Located on LHS about 1foot in from front part of main chassis arm.

    here goes... 57660760...

    Can you confirm series/year?

    Thanks
No, I don't have and have not been able to locate S1 numbers. Series 1 chassis is easily distinguished from Series 2/3 by the chassis fittings for foot pedals, although apart from this there is little difference between late S1 and S2/3 chassis, although there will be a lot of detail differences.
