    Alarm Alarm !

    Have had a few hot days here lately (40+), and yesterday the alarm was going off every now and then all day on our Disco......never done this before, but Im guessing it was caused by the heat as I had to have all windows up while at a mates place having a few beers , as you do when its 40+ code Red TFB and waiting to go fight Fires all day and night


    Anybody had this before?

    it sounds like yohave the infrared sensors in yours......

    there is a way to activate the alarm without activating the sensors.....ie perimeter alarm only......
    but thats all i can remember......at least you can leave the windows down......




    im sure someone will come along with the answer soon......just have another beer or two while you wait.......

    I think all you have to do is lock the disco buy key to bypass the infrared sensors.

    One of the hassles you have with infra red sensors is that you cannot leave windows a little open whilst "fully" immobilizing the vehicle. Any breeze running through the vehicle will set it of and any insect flying around or any movement at all inside the vehicle will set it off

    I have had a couple of time, in the middle of the night where the alarm has gone off due to a moth flying around inside my vehicle

    I have the same prob with mine but only if i leave a window down an inch or so, fully closed there is no problem.

    Indr red sensors are almost pointless any way.

    A few months ago, I had mongrel low life smash the drivers side window in to get my wifes purse. When the alarm went off, he ran away, when he noticed that the people no more than 10 meters away, having a BBQ paid no attention beside just looking over towards my vehicle, he plucked up the courage, ran back, reached in and stole the purse.

    That doesn't prove that the sensors are pointless, it proves that alarms are pointless if noone pays them any notice - and that you shouldn't leave anything valueable inside a car.
