I always wrap all parts of the vehicle with dodgy 240v wiring...NOT
Drivesafe Are you scraping the barrel for posts in this thread?
I dispute the inverter driven charger is unsafe. There is an Austrailian Standard (AS3000 I think) that covers all 240v wiring and several others covering portable appliances and wiring in caravans, motorhomes and campers. if these are followed then there will be multiple measures designed to protect users from any electrocution or shock hazzard.
They can be (and were in my case) contained in a substantial plastic case with no external 240V. In fact the 240V wiring would have been less than 15cm long. To be a hazzard would be absurd.
Do you know why Engel fridges have a plastic interlock to prevent both 12 and 240v cables being connected at the same time? because when run on 12v the internal inverter that drives the compressor actually puts 240v on the 240v input terminals! I have never heard of electrocution from aln Engel in an accident. In extreme circumstances the 240v from the inverter can actually be used to power small devices.
Most inverters have their outputs floating, ie no MEN system or earth reference so you would need to make contact with both output terminals. Electrocutions where both active and neutral contact has been made is a very small percentage of electrocutions and shocks.
Now back to batteries?
