To bad they didn't require a roll cage like some sites do. That would be a nice company perk.
Surprised you don't need a light bar across the back of the roof.

I see some 4wd's with them but usally find they are staff, not really needed unless u are going to Mt Kieth and the Superpit.Quote:

I dont mean to rain on your parade but....
unless your boss is a boss on the mine and not a boss of a contracted party him giving you permission doesnt necisarily make it so...
As Sven found out when he wanted to take out company 4x4 down to the crane site to swap some lifting slings...
Our boss had said ok, mine site boss said no dice even though the vehicle was up to and in some areas exceded that particular sites requirements. Sven argued and had his pit pass revoked.
This particular mine site has many vehicles from many different companies coming through the mill and to various areas. If a vehicle is required to do a task on site and mets the specs then it is allowed on site.
We are working on the tailings dam which means driving through the mill and then going about a 1km drive out the other side. Thus you need your vehicle to get there. If we were only working at the mill then the vehicle would have to be parked in the car park outside the gates.
I don't think it will be an issue.
Thanks. :)Quote:

From what we have seen, the high back tail light is not a requirement. The supervisors vehicle and other vehicles all seem to be approved and ok.
At the end of the day it is the site requirements that must be met.
Frankly I wouldn't contemplate using a Land Rover on site where I work... the caustic would dissolve most of it  (see, there are uses for Toyota's)
