Mate thats a great result, personally if they didnt quibble and took you at your word, will fix it free and have offered you a loaner they're giving you better treatment than Ive gotten at most (tonys exlcuded those guys were great to us) dealers...
ask to have an eyeball at the workshop floor and while on the floor ask if they mind you using their hoist for a quick underbody mark 1 check on the underside as a precursor to a trip your about to do..
the first is usually fine, the second most places will baulk at or say maybe so long as we have a mechanic with you for insurance/safety reasons..
The best result is "certainly sir, we will let you know the day your vehicle is fixed and arrange for it to be on the hoist for your inspection prior to you taking it for a test drive"
These 2 things in conjucntion with how friendly the owner/workers are are my barometer for how much ID trust em with.
It was the deciding factor between me going to a beaurepairs or the shop next door in wodonga (shocking memory i'll edit it in later) i needed a slow leak fixed was in a hurry and being lazy was prepared to pay for it... After getting a quote for the fix (both the same)
I asked if theyd mind if i was on the floor when the tyre was pulled so that I could eyeball the filter(RHR wheel), suspension bits and the disc, not only did they say yes, they offered me the use of a brake micrometer instead of having to use my own which was in the vehicle but they didnt know that.
Normally I seek out beaurepairs from a customer loyalty POV, not this time... I wasnt even going to be allowed to drive the vehicle into the workshop let alone be anywhere near it while it was on a jack.
