Hi all,

I picked up my fridge today after a warranty repair. they replaced the circuit board that sits on the motor. It was flashing three lights which is supposed to mean a faulty motor or that circuit board. Anyway that seems fixed.

However I was still having problems so out came the tool kit. I got out the multimeter and found the following voltage drops through the circuit.

Battery to rear connector 0.37v
Connector to transformer input 0.03v
AC Transformer input to output 0.40v
AC Transformer output to inside of fridge socket 0.38v

I thought that it was interesting that there was more voltage drop in the Waeco fridge cable than in the 5m run from the battery to the rear connector. I called Waeco and told them that was not good enough and asked them to send me another cable (politely of course) and they said no worries. It's in the post

So anyone who is chasing voltage drop in your fridge circuit if you have a Waeco fridge I'd be having a close look at your fridge cable.

I also used to use the fancy cigarette lighter plug that Waeco have standard. However after finding out the connector was warm I just have spade connections now. I'll replace it with the two prong plug and socket that Blknight was talking about a while back.
