Thread: Maxidrive Switch locations in D2

I don't have any pics, but I've put my ARB buttons into the removable panel thats near the overhead mirror. Its good as it never gets bumped, its easy to see and use, and when things get gnarly my copilot can operate them for me.

Mine is in the flop down panel below the steering wheel. Probably not the most aesthetic place but it is very easy to find by feel and flip the locker in when you need it.
You need a fair bit of room behind the actuator because the vacuum tubes are quite stiff and can't be kinked.

The light is mounted in the panel of three blanked out switches on the opposite side to the ash tray ( don't have a photo ) but i think D2 is diffrent.

That would be a great spot, but i am limited by the length of the vacum lines,, three lines come right into the cabin to the switch block,, i could extend them etc thats definetly one advantage of the ARB lockers over the maxidrive

Can I suggest getting a solenoid that will activate the vacuum pipes. I have this in my Rangie and it means you can mount all the vacuum pipes under the bonnet and just have a small electrical switch inside the cabin which activates the solenoid.

If you need one, I know Fred Smith in Bayswater Melbourne sells them....I think they are about $110 but I am sure you could get one up your way somewhere.

Yes, Was considering this, but dont want to get over complicated and for the additional cost it might be a bit much,, maybe if i could get the solenoids cheaper i would do it.

This looks ok, but i would definetly bash my legs on it, i was considering mounting it in the spot that you have that low water light.
