Are S2a Axle housings normally laminated or have mine been done by an owner?

now when you say "laminated", do you mean that there is a web like strengthening section welded to the lower side of the diff housings,if so,i beleive this to be a military mod,but if wrong i am sure some one will correct me

or it may have had a LWB front housing fitted. flush it out with some good rust killer every now and then, its a good rust holder.

I'll be doing the conversion to kermit.

As far as i'm aware, the would be army axles as the 2A came with the laminated axles as far as i'm aware. My s3 for example does not have them laminated, but my S2 ambulance does.

All of my 4 axles (2 x 2As) had the strengthening pieces fitted on fronts & rears.

It may have started out as a Mil. modification, but my 1964 Parts Catalogue (English Publication) shows the axles with it fitted only on the rear.

Plus 35 was a limited run (Aus only) of the series 2A, generally upgraded bits. Ive seen this same modification on UK MOD vehicles.
