Ok gents
Heres the problem. The indicator clicking sound now goes full time in the disco. It changes from a fast pace to a slow normal pace when i actualy use the indicators. All of the indicators work fine and ive replaced the flasher unit. It just has this continual rapid clicking noise coming from somewhere in the dash. Has anyone experienced this before. If anyone has advice it would be greatly appeciated before i have to spend through the nose for an auto sparky or start loading up the shotty.
BTW its a 97 Disco tdi
cheers
Mick

hazard light switch faulty???
Do you have a trailer socket. If so check that to see if it's clean or any broken wires/shorts. Or as already stated the haz switch could be faulty. Also check the earth connection on the flasher unit.
Thanks guys
Ive checked the hazard switch, all is good there. Ive got doupble setup back lights so the trailer indicator flashes normally. All of the lights flash in time and correctly. The problem started intermitently a few months ago but the clicking would stop whenever an indicator was used. I used to be able to stop the clicking noise by flashing the indicators. Now it just goes all the time. I think my money would be on the ground for the flasher unit.
When the clicking noise is going the indicators dont flash as well. its just this annoying noise that sounds exactly like the indicators but sped up and at half the volume.
Just run a new temporary earth to the flasher and see if that solves the problem - if it does you know what it is.
Trailer sockets can be a pig also even with just a bit of mud / water / poop in them they can feed back voltage.
