    G'day WilliamB

Yup! sounds like the float has done up and sunk common fault with those plastic floats, they get a small hole in them, best to take it out and if the float has petrol in it, put it out in the sun for a few days and the petrol will evaporate, then paint the float( out of the holder) with a petrol tolerant compound, "Stag" jointing sealer is good you can till get it from REPCO ltd I think, or a good Motorcycle shop, give it a day to dry and refit it.

    cheers
