An initial pull of 7-9lb with a moving resistance of 5-7lb is the setting.

The seal that wipes the chrome swivel ball. Visible from under the car when you look at the swivel - stops the oil/grease from getting out and water getting in.

The seal on the chrome ball. Drain the housing and take off the little plate that holds the seal in place on the chrome ball.
Then take a reading.
Or do what JD suggests and just add a couple pounds.
