    Swivel preload, do u take reading before or after....

    The swivel pre-load, do u take the reading with or without the disc brake caliper on ?

    and this is the correct rating -

    An initial pull of 7-9lb with a moving resistance of 5-7lb is the setting.

    Should not make any difference - but the figures are without the seal fitted - I usually add about two pounds if checking with the seal fitted and this seems to work.

    The seal that wipes the chrome swivel ball. Visible from under the car when you look at the swivel - stops the oil/grease from getting out and water getting in.

    The seal on the chrome ball. Drain the housing and take off the little plate that holds the seal in place on the chrome ball.

    Then take a reading.

    Or do what JD suggests and just add a couple pounds.
