    Noise Matting

    Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with noise matting in S 2A. Would it have any impact on operating temps, in particular on long runs up north. Also does anyone know, or can recommend a supplier and what would be the cost.

    cheers
    Paul

    Hi Paul
Ive made floormats from 1/2" thick conveyor belt rubber in all the Series Landys Ive had, helps with noise and you can drive with bare feet!!!!!
There is some really good noise control blanket available, not sure where you would look.Over here Ive seen 2 adds you may be able to google for a website.Albany V Belts and Rubber, and Engine Protection Equipment WA.You may be able to get product names/product qualities off their websites.

Nylex used to make a full range of sound control products. We used them to reduce the noise levels of earthmoving & mining plant when the tight daily noise regulations were introduced. The best, and most expensive had thin sheets of lead sandwiched in acoustic foam faced with reflective foil. They also had lead filled floor matting, ideal for the floors of LR's.
