TDi injectors are a hardy unit, and generally survive the life of the engine. That said, there are a number of schools of thought on them:

1. Leave alone and use a good injector cleaner.
2. Clean injector tip using bosch cleaning kit
3. Dissassemble, clean and recalibrate using shims to correct for spring degredation (burst pressure)
4. As in 3, but adding new tips.
5. Buy new ones.
Remember it's a standard bosh injector - although the casing size and length are different, this injector has been used for some time in VW diesels.
In reverse order:
5. Don't buy new ones in Australia. They cost around $200 ea at least (Don't bother asking a dealer - you'll faint at the cost) , and all you are doing is adding to someone's profit. If you come to conclusion that you want to buy new, generally look towards $AUD100 ea inc postage from the UK. (Remeber the $AUD500 threshold for GST).
4. Tip replacements for VW Tdi (their version) in the Golf diesel can be found - but when you add the cost of having a diesel specialist fit them and calibrate them, it's cheaper to buy new.
3. If you have a diesel specialist nearby, talk to them - after all ERR3339 is only a long nose bosch injector - and they might have some experience with them. After some years obviously some reduction in burst pressure ocurrs, but there have been mixed results - some have had their old injectors tested and found to be 99% after 10 years.
2. Bosch tip cleaning kits can be found for roughly $50 ( I was looking at some on ebay). They look like they have specialist wire cleaning tools in them. Since the holes in the tip are of a tight tolerance, I'd suggest not trying to clean them with anything else. That said, when I first got my Disco, I took the injectors out, cleaned the black buildup off them and fitted new copper sealing washers.
1. I use industrial injector cleaner from CEM ( Cost effective maintainance). Works for me. Others have their own favourites. You'd be surprised what a dose of good injector cleaner over a few tanks of fuel will do for reduction in smoke and performance. Remember poor performance is not only injectors - clean intercooler, secure turbo pipes and clean air and fuel filters all contribute.
