UJ sizes for series 2a and 3

I have my new ujs - got the old ones out, went to put the new ones in...
The diff end spider/bearings went in fine on the prop shaft end lovely - but the main (centre) part of the spider is too fat to get the bloody thing in the diff part of the UJ.
    the spiders are TOYO K513XR. / M1E 718

Now I'm guessing that the more robust spider is for the series 3...(the box says 3,TD5,DEF. (should have checked).

they measure 3.25 ins bearing to bearing.
I have the 3 prop I can take off and use. But I'm not going there till I Know!
(in the street, no workshop, dogs peeing on me, sharks in the drains etc).

    thanks.

    Hi Will
Dont think your Ser3 109 tailshaft will fit the 2A 88",the Ser3 item will be too long.
There is a slim chance it goes,as the 2A rover diff is smaller and the 3 sailsbury diff has a much longer nose.
Get you tapemeasure out and measure the 2 vehicles flange to flange.
    Goodluck

Thanks - i just found that out!!!
can anyone recomend the correct part?
these ones are just too fat in the body. even though they are the right length
    and bearing diameter.

    yours in gravel rash.

I seem to recall a post of about 2 weeks ago. A gentle person of knowledge ernestly recommeneded using only Spicer uni joints. Try flipping the cross 180 degrees. Some of these things had 2 different end cap sizes, just to annoy people.

    Shorty.
