umm just confirm, does it have the coil packs up the front or does it have those horrable ones that mount directly on thespark plug?
In either case.. So long as he has a grounded spark plug in it he can remover the bit that covers the spark and crank it over.. but DONT hang onto it those things deliver mega volts, higher than whats delivered by a normal coil system.
if hes showing no spark there, have him trace the harness to the crank or cam angle sensors and look for a 5v-12v on either of them. if that voltage is there then he has a crook sensor or connection between the sensor, the brain and the "coil" and if its not there then hes not getting power to the brain...
I have only seen under the bonnet once and that was to help him change his oil. So I don't know what sort of setup it has. I told him to pull a spark plug and ground it while cranking to see if it sparks or not but he wasn't keen.
I'll have a good look at it on Monday but I have had zero to do with non distributor engines. I'll just do what I can but if we can't figure it out it is a 30min truck ride to Gympie where the nearest real mechanics are.
It might just be a dead fuel pump yet. I had him pull the fuel lines off to see how much pressure it had. As in if it had less after the filter or not but he reckons it had the same before and after the filter. He didn't seem to think the pressure was very high.
:o Didn't you use to have one of these????:D :D :D :DQuote:
I just didn't add all that before as who cares about a Rodeo on a Land Rover website :D
How did you go?
I had one in a previous life but I'm trying to put it behind me. It was the model before this one and they have different engines.
I haven't had a look at it yet. I parked beside it and it is up on blocks with the fuel tank sitting on the ground but still wired and plumbed to the ute. Looks like a regular Inala model :D
Have Inalans moved on from using Falcon engines and washing machines for lawn ornaments?Quote:

thats your minimim figures for both throttle and multi point injection for starting..
running you should be able to get to 28 on throttle body and up to 60 for mpi. (ballparks rtfm)
No. In fact there is a covenant that states that every yard must have at least one old car on blocks.
Plus or minus the Falcon engine & washing machine? What about the dismantled outboard motor clamped to the front verandah rail? Yes, politically incorrect, I know. I am a product of my environment. I once was a Social Security fraud investigator.
cant you buy a little tool from supacheap you can hold next to the lead and it lights up with each spark?
Cost about $5
