Bad earth between the starter & battery? Dirty/sticking brushes? Bad starter connection?
That's right my Disco sometimes will not start, symptoms:so far it's only after long drives if I stop and then say after 5 minutes try to start it nothing!! not even a clicking sound yet the dash lights all come on if I wait another 10-30 min it will start normally. What would cause this problem?
I have fitted a new battery last week and it has done it again since. Didn't think it was the problem but mostly I wanted a bigger battery![]()

sticking or failing start solenoid. the good news is inox will fix it temporarily but pulling it out and apart to give it a proper lube job is the go...

A friend's Skyline used to do this. If you turned it off it wouldn't start again til it had cooled down. Which was around 30mins. It turned out to be the automatic transmission lockout switch doodah.
Thanks I'll check all of these options.
