    Dual wheel Carrier

Come on guys someone must know who makes these for a 130 dual cab. I'm sure i've seen some around passing throught the desert here, any idea's or names i could look up?. It seems people make them but not for a fender and especially for a 130. I just want to get the !@##$ things out of my tray and dont want to mount one on the bonnet cos i won't be able to see where i'm going, and the bonnet is freshly painted and i have heard that the tyre's weight will just crack it eventually, especially on the roads out here.
    Cheers from the Desert

Try Kaymar, as it is a bumper replacement they may be able to make one up, but I'm glad I"m not paying for it.

theres a bloke who made his own in towsnville its defisatingly simple but only works for the size rubber you make it for..

it was essentially 2 1/3 arcs to suit the nomitated trubber+ width welded into a triangle (stand 2tyres touching and the thing fills in the gap in the middle) a pair of straps were fastened to the middle and go around the rubber to hold them in place.. the space in the middle he uses as a nonpotable water tank.

hope that makes some kind of sense it was home made and he reckons he got it all out of one plate of 1.2mm steel.

How 'bout a cushion on the driver's seat and stick with the bonnet mount.

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

For my D2 I've made a swing-away 2nd spare carrier that slips into the towbar receiver. The wheel is on centre behind the 1st spare and there's a jerrycan holder on the LHS above the bumper.

the suppliers right, the disco is a micky hair too narrow for a side by side carrier..

my solution was an adaptor that carried a spare carcas behind the normal spare since Ive always carried tyre changing gear and a compressor if I kill a second tyre I wasnt worried about spendingthe extra 30 mins or so to swap and inflate the rubber.

Surely on a 130 a roof mounted wheel carrier could be an option. Alternatively you could mount the spares on the sides or back of the tub.

I thought of it but wouldn't know of the legalities having the spare sit much wider than the rest of the vehicle, sayingf that though it is a 130 not a mini, the things are as wide as a house regardless.
