Well, I was interested in the question and wanted to see the answers, you never had anything to say about the Christies unit and everything since has been about your unit, so much so the original topic has faded.Quote:

I apologise if it upsets you, but as you can see there is only one reply to the original post (& who could miss it with that image of the Charger) which means the thread would be empty. In other words no-one appears to know much about them.

my mate has an 80amp christie i think it is and he loves it... e has even tweaked it so it puts out exactly what his battery prefers...

I would have thought the cost of running your landie for a couple of hours on the occasions when you needed to charge up the batteries would cost 10x less than the charger in question?
I have one, opps make that my dad has one, great little unit and I reckon you cannot go wrong with honda
good points
- they will charge your battery quick only have to run for an hour or so
- with plenty of amps going in it will help reduce sulfvation on the plates as well
Bad point
- a fair bit noisier the the honda generator, a long piece of that fleible steel pipe would reduce noise
- no 240v
My dads one hardly gets used as he has a 3 way in the camper trailer
Our other option was to buy a honda generator and use the built in battery charger which is rates at only around 5amp/h maybe 8amp/h which would take forever charge up say an 80amp/h deep cycle.
Another thought was to buy another battery charger to connect to the generator that had a higher output but it would still take ages

Agreed - there are other options which avoid having to lug yet more kit, but they don't suit everyone. I just had ARB fit my Dual Battery system and while they had the battery box open I got them to wire in a dedicated anderson plug in the load area, with heavy duty cabling. I then have another anderson plug connected to some terminal clips and can charge the big >100 Amp hour batteries quickly (and safely, simply) whilst on day trips. Am sure any autoelec could do it pretty cheaply. Just throwing in another option...Quote:
