    Disco ticking noise (solved?)

    Hi all,

Just incase anyone else has a similar problem, it would seem that I've finally solved my ticking noise from the Discovery.

For quite some time now I've had a ticking noise that is only present when I back off with the accelerator. The rate of ticking was speed dependant, ie the slower I went the slower the ticking, and after being told my gearbox was full of metal shavings I assumed it was something to do with the Auto.

However, whilst having a look under my car last week I noticed that two of the bolts on the driveshaft were loose (just where it meets the rubber donut). After tightening these I haven't heard a single noise since so here's hoping the ticking noise is solved.

Now to work out why my Auto was full of metal shavings.

    Regards,

    Harvs.
