    Defender hard lock

    Hey fellas when i put my Defender in a hard steering lock it makes this sound like the tyres are rubbing on the guard but they are stock size tyres and i cant work out wat it is. if anybody knows look forward to hearing from you

    to be honest i dont know but it jsut makes a light grating noise and pulses a bit when i put the vehicle in a hard lock

    Hi Mate
    The "lock stops" may have been adjusted too much or snaped off.Look under the front when you get it on full lock in the position it rubs.
    Look at the swivel axle housing there should be a nut and bolt to adjust to stop the tyre rubbing.

    It's on the front of the swivel housing and hits the flange where the ball is bolted on. The rubbing (if that is the problem) will be the tyre on the inside (opposite side to the stop) rubbing against the radius arm.

    Check the steering stops and look for rubbing on the arms on either side. Mine does this and I just haven't got around to reseting the stops.
