Everyone needs the odd fault cleared at service (very few of which will stop the car and some of which the driver is even aware of). Having to visit the dealer the have fault code resets for non-continuing problems is a TD5 thang, not a D3 thang!
You missed my point. I also probably didn't make it clear either. From what I can see the problem does seem to be just clearing minor service faults. Like you I get very suspicious when I simply hear of a "software problem".
I looked into this for sometime with my Td5 when LR pulled any access to Testbook from me (one day it was 500m away next day it was 1100km). I was worried about getting a fault on the car and either not knowing about it or being unable to move the vehilcle (which did happen in the end).
It's quite amazing how often a vehicle can overcome an internal fault. If only Windows was as forgiving!
