M + S Lights when put in reverse

What could be causing this problem on a 2001 D2 Td5 Auto. Start, put into reverse (noticable clunk on shifting) and M + S lights come on with expected result. Turn off ignition, restart, lights flash once and then clear, all OK. Only seems to happen if reverse is the first gear selected.

I havent got the EAT ECU license for Rovacomlite so I can't look at the fault codes. Only happens with reverse.

It's your second climate control drains. The first drains over the double carden joint. The second leaks on the reverse contact pins on your gearbox. You may have noticed it gets harder for reverse to become engaged. With your humidity up there I would imagine the problem is worse therefore the M & S lights have been illuminated, basically a rusting problem caused by a crap designed drainage pipes.
