    New swb motor

What would be a good diesel to put in a Series 3 swb in place of the current 4 cyl 2.25 petrol ?? preferable 4 cyl i dont really want a hungry v8 even though i would be nice i would like something that would be able to travel distance without having to take jerry cans along.
    Regards Adrian

Better still TDi with the correct gearbox/transfer.A cheaper option would be a jap import diesel/gearbox/transfer.
Series gearboxes are their downfall, get a diesel with all the matching runing gear.
Our "other" vehicle is a 88 trytoo 4x4 dualcab,it has a later imported 92 turbo intercooled Pajahero motor.HEAPS of grunt, would go well in a Series shorty.Brisbane Motor Imports are the go for jap imports, good prices and freight was only $200 Brissie to Perth!!!!
    Keep us uptaded.

you just need to replace the 2.25d with a decent one. They do come up occasionally, just keep an eye out for one.

rebuild it, do most of the work yourself and you can get away with sub $1200 in parts and crank machining
