Are the shift patterns the same for the D1 Disco, Ie torque converter lock up at around 80 , and what does it mean when its hard to get into reverse ?

Really sounds like it is stuck in sports mode.

Mine changes about then in sports mode... but like the others said just over 60 in normal.

You should definitely notice a difference in shift pattern in sport mode...

Took the disco in today to get it checked over and they found the problem.
Fault #3 solenoid not closing auto transmission ECU needs replacing.
All i can say is thank god its still under warranty .
Ithink the car yard is going to have a heart attack once he finds out how much $$$$$ he is up for, Could be around $1700 to have fixed.
Hopefully he dont give me any greif and just gives the ok to have it fixed.

Quick question - how did they know the ECU was at fault and not just the valve

Really like to know how they differentiated between a fault in the valve or a fault in the ECU

We've had the odd transmission replacement but we've never had to replace a transmission ECU.
    Very odd.

To be honest im not sure how they know, They wired a computer into it and got the readings.
On reading the paperwork i have here again it says....
    Fault #3 solenoid not closing
    Suspect auto trans ECU
But they did say it needs replacing .

The car yard is now looking around for better prices.
And would you believe there is no ECU units in Australia so one will have to be orderd from England could take 2/6 weeks for it to arrive.
