My TD5 auto Disco 2000 model also doesn't drop in to 4th until 80 to 85kmh.
Maybe they are set up to change at 80kmh, I think its a bit high, 70 to 75kmh would be better for fuel economy.

The card yard chased around and got a price for a new ECU unit, :o
$2050 imported from England.
As you would expect they were not that happy with the price and shopped around.
They ended up finding a second hand ECU from a place in Padstow NSW and have agreed to have it fitted ,wich im happy with as long as it does the job.
So this morning i thought id lift the bonnet and check the oil water ETC and find a leak coming from a part that leads into my rocket cover:mad: .
It looks like the coolant is leaking from a hose located on top of the rocket cover on the left hand side and is dripping down to the manifold.
To say im not happy is a under statement.Any ideas about this leak would be apreciated.

When you say on the left hand side, is that looking from the front of the car (so the drivers side) if so there are two hoses there - the heater hoses. If they are leaking, wait until the engines cold - just remove the hose clips, clean the tails, and replace with new hose clamps - the screw type are better. Remember to top up your cooling system properly as although the hoses are high up, you will loose some coolant.
If it's the other side (passenger side) there are two hoses there as well but much smaller, and they go to a small heat exchanger under the throttle body (it;s there to stop ice forming in the throttle body !!!) again follow the same proceedure, cool engine, remove, clean - new hose clamps, top up properly. ................but it could be the gasket in the small heat exchanger - and you can't buy the gasket you have to get the little metal cover as well - about $65.00 from a dealer
Unless you live at Mt buller, many specialists in Australia just loop the hose as its unnecessary.
I have done this on mine and never had any icing problem.
Its really for low temp high humidity as in UK in winter.
