Pretty sure it was Kaistuff who had the pix or the door trims done. No idea where they'd be now, but they used to be in his gallery.

    Lots of help, eh.

    Cheers

I made mine out of ply but i think the lower trims would be better in alloy as they tend to get kicked a bit.

I made mine out of chequerplate. 4 door though, not 2 door.

I just sold em on ebay.

It fairly easy to do (for a 4 door, not sure on 2 door).

All I did was but a sheet of 3mm c/plate (thinner stuff will do) and basically traced the outline of the old door skin onto it and cut with a jigsaw and plenty of lubrication.

Drill out holes for door handles etc.

Clamped them to a bench between 2 blocks of wood, and bent the angle at the top of the door using a rubber mallet and a bit of patience.

    HTH.

Mick - did this make the cabin any noisier? I am thinking that the std door trims absorb a bit of noise but the chequerplate would not.

Looks good anyway, and not too difficult to fabricate by the sound of things.

2 dr are easier as they are in 2 parts, paint the inside of the alloy with sound deadener.

I would say yes but then again it's hard to tell with my rangie.

It's stripped inside except for the bare essentials.

Do as Loan Rangie suggested and spray with some sound deadener.
    Cheers
