When they returned it, there was coolant in it (amazing), which they charged me for, and, the icing on the cake, they charged me for disposal of the old coolant.

    What can I say......
Thats when you go off your rocker in the service department and if you don't get what you want and it's a dealership you go up into the show room and start yelling at them over it.
Demand written guarantee that they have not damaged the vehicle and a full refund for the service.
Thats if your nice. Other wise take it further and do your best to send them broke. If they are nice you play nice. If they lie and cheat then fight back hard.
Mistakes happen but hew they deal with it says a lot about their customer care.

You could do what I do and take it to a specialist who will do a chemical flush that will remove all contaminates and old coolant from the cooling system including the heater matrix and replace the coolant and pressure test and do the job right.I do all three of my vehicles every year without fail and have never had a cooling issue, long life coolant be damned, every year and the D1 and fender get green Glycol and the L322 gets OAT.It costs me $110 each time or if the rad gets rodded, every third time,it's $240 and $24 for the thermostat..I have no idea why people on this forum risk thier engines for that amount of money. I couldn't agree more - remember the old proverb "penny wise and pound foolish". Do it once do it well and you don't have nasty surprises. I do much the same with my vehicles
